candy for days

The fair has come to town! My sister and I made the yearly pilgrimage to much dismay - the gold panning section has been removed! Aside from the 'Sips' pavilion, the only redeeming display was the sugar mountain history of candy.

I love love love vintage packaging. It was always so well thought out and appealing looking. All those happy looking characters.

mad men

You would be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't absolutely LOVE this television show. Seriously. The story line, the actors, the costumes (mostly the costumes), everything about it is perfect. Now is your chance to join this dreamy cast! Everyone should be applying for this if only as an excuse to meet Don Drapper. Sigh.

allergic to morning

If any of you read my personal style blog, you'll know that I have an affinity for anything snoopy. Anything peanuts for that matter. There is no end to the incredible snoopy treasures one can find on etsy. Here are a few of my favourite:

Snoopy Beach Fun Tunic

Mirror Wall Hanging

Sno Cone Maker

Scratch 'n' Sniff Telephone Book

Allergic to Morning Coffee Cup

isn't it all so precious?

weezieduzzit

I decided to go platform hunting on etsy, as I seem to be stuck on the topic, BUT LOOK AT THESE THINGS! They are easily the most amazing shoes I have ever laid eyes on. The craftsmanship, the sheer genius of them. These should be in a museum:

new york doll

My blue velvet platforms from Le Chateau (brand new from the 90s!!) were featured on this lovely little blog and were promptly snatched immediately after. The power of the internet!

Check out Nickie Noel's blog post on the New York Dolls and glam in general here

going green

Ever since I moved out on my own 4 years ago I have tried to be responsible for my actions (towards the planet that is....) my love of vintage stemmed from wanting to use things that already existed rather than constantly purchasing new and disposable products.

Recently, my sister started a very eye opening blog that makes you question many things in your everyday life. But fear not! It is the opposite of the doom and gloom blogs that are usually on the preachy side. Have a look for yourself and watch my sisters road to success (or ruin, it remains to be seen).

I'm a lumberjack, ok?

Another treasury, another cute item! Pleated plaid wool skirt (I'm gearing up for the fall already!) has been featured on a lumberjack treasury. How fitting.
